Minecraft Snapshot 18w08b! (+Most other snapshots) PART 1

Hello internet,
Last Friday, I was away, and so was not able to post - But here I am, with the NEW Snapshot (18w08b) which adds FISH!!! Real live ones, that swim and can be caught in buckets. Salmon, Cod and pufferfish now have new textures, and we now have access to Turtles, Kelp, and the new water physics. On top of this, a new command has been added - /bossbar. I will cover this in the next Minecraft Command School, along with the /scoreboard and the forgotten /time.

Now, FISH.


Can you spot the salmon? Or, harder still, the Cod?

Each of the fish can be caught in buckets,

And can be released into the wild.

I may seem apparent now, but the next thing is Kelp. Here is a video of me swimming through it...

The Kelp can be crafted into blocks, (Below), but also cooked to make dried kelp, witch can be eaten twice as fast as normal food. You can kinda see it in my hotbar.

and, New Biomes?

The Lukewarm Ocean, Cold Ocean, Warm Ocean, Frozen Ocean, Normal Ocean and Deep varients of each. I am guessing that these new biomes will mean something in the future, but right now I can't see many uses for them.

TURTLES add A LOT Of stuff. Here is a picture of turtles, and there eggs, which zombies are attracted to. This could be used to make a mob farm. 

Also in this image is the turtle cap, which gives you water breathing, and me holding the new spawn egg. Turtles can swim, and you can make new Potions of the Turtle Master, which gives you resistance VI, But also Slowness VI. 

 

Now, you can find Underwater Caves and Ravines, and, if the Ravine goes low enough you will find obsidian dotted with magma, which has new properties, along with soul sand. Magma pulls you down, and Soul Sand pushes you up. (As demonstrated in the video).

There is still so much more I want to show you, and so much more coming. For this reason, I will continue the exploration of the update(s) next time, possibly tomorrow, with all the rest.
